Jill Scipione's art concerns themes of life and death, eternity and hope. Her ideas and images have their foundations in various
cultures and faiths since antiquity and make use of universal symbol and archetype.
Corporeal subjects such as the fish and the cuts of meat are arranged in a sort of schematic of immeasurable realities. These new objects- cart, wheel,
column, are familiar yet ancient; building blocks of civilization. The paintings have as their subject frailty, substitution, incarnation and restoration.
