Victory Arts Projects is working with the Real Estate Developer
K. Hovnanian to produce exhibits of area artists in the Sales
Center for the new building at 77 Hudson St. near Exchange
Place.
It's Only Natural at 77 Hudson for the month of April. Artists
from Jersey City and the greater NJ/NY area
display their views on the natural world-
Over 30 artists' works that present different views on the
natural world in realistic renderings, abstract juxtapositions of
the man-made and the natural, mystical interpretations, and
fantastic 2 and 3 - D reconstructions of natural materials. Many
of the drawings, paintings and photographs in the exhibit
capture the personal, internal experience of being in an
exhilarating natural environment. Through an emphasis on
color and form and a focus on the subtle and ever-changing
aspects of light and motion, their observations often create
powerful abstracted images. The scultpural works and that of
some photographers often emphasize the alliance and
transformation of natural materials and manufactured ones.
These materials use in these works becomes symbolic of the
co-existance and conflict between the natural and
contemporary urban worlds.
