As part of the Youth
Mural Program
the museum asked us to
create an image that
reflected the past and
future of our city. Artists
and students entered
into a colaborative effort
in which students took
part in the artists'
creative process, The
methods of planned, but
the outcome was very
open-ended and no one
knew how the different
parts would be resolved
or what the final image
would look like. The
students made many
choices affecting the
overall design, and also
created areas of their
own -paintings within the
painting- that were
woven together into a
dynamic structure.
